As we age, collagen and elastin become depleted in our skin causing lines, wrinkles and thin skin. Bio Skin Resurfacing is a treatment designed to improve the texture and tone of the skin, helping it become progressively thicker, tighter and more supple.
Bio Skin Rejuvenation is a collagen stimulating therapy, ideal for treating ageing skin on the face, neck, eyes, hands and décolletage and also is commonly used in the treatment of hair loss. It improves texture, tone, fine lines and wrinkles.
Used by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian, it is a simple and safe procedure. Usually, a series of three treatments are performed separated by approximately a month. Bio Skin Rejuvenation is also used in the treatment of burns, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and physiotherapy to accelerate wound healing, Bio Skin Rejuvenation is an increasingly popular method for facial, hand, eye, décolletage and neck rejuvenation.
It is safe and provides a natural result.

The Bio Skin Rejuvenation Facial is used for the following:
- To improve the texture of the skin and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- To thicken and improve the quality of thinning skin or the crepiness of ageing skin
- Especially helpful in treating difficult to treat lines around and under the eyes and on the neck
- Facial rejuvenation including nasolabial lines, marionette lines, forehead lines
- Neck ageing and rejuvenation
- Chest and décolletage rejuvenation
- Mild to moderate acne scarring and other scarring
- Back of hands
- Stretchmark improvement
- Can be used in multiple areas for dermal rejuvenation.
After your treatment you will experience some swelling where the fluid has been injected under the skin. This will persist for approximately two days, occasionally longer.
Bruising is possible and this risk is increased after any blood thinning agents such as ibuprofen, aspirin, fish or krill oil or multivitamins are taken in the preceding two weeks.
Collagen stimulation is a process that usually takes about three months to begin. Occasionally, results begin a bit sooner at 6 weeks but often the results are only becoming noticeable by three months. Very little occurs before then.
The improvement in skin texture and tone continues for about 9 months to a year after the procedure.
The effects are long-lasting as it is your own collagen that is stimulated and not a bio-degradable dermal filler which will disappear over time.
Bio Skin Rejuvenation therapy can be combined with virtually any other cosmetic treatment, including:
- Dermal Fillers and Muscle Relaxant injections
- Laser and light therapies
- Neck and FaceTite™; Cellutite™
- Radiofrequency ultrasound technologies such as Fractora™ and Fractora Firm™
- Fat reduction systems such as CoolSculpting® and BodyFX™
- Skin chemical peels and microdermabrasion.
Bio Skin Rejuvenation Therapy acts to accelerate and improve the results of these other therapies by first improving the quality of the skin being treated.
It is recommended to have three treatments one month apart.
An annual or two yearly maintenance treatment may further enhance results and slow down the natural ongoing ageing process.
Numbing cream is applied approximately half an hour prior to the procedure. The small injections are quite comfortable. The needle is smaller than that commonly used by diabetics to inject their insulin.
To further minimise discomfort, a vibrating instrument is often applied to the area being treated which limits the transmission of pain impulses to the pain fibres. We often use ice as well to minimise discomfort. Taking two paracetamol tablets one hour prior to the procedure can also help. Avoid ibuprofen (Advil or Nurofen) as this can increase bruising.
For the needle phoebes we offer other forms of pain relief so talk to our staff upon arrival.
At Cosmetic Image Clinics we pride ourselves on making your experience as comfortable as possible.
